Membership in the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada and its Branches is open to all, upon payment of the appropriate subscription fees. While some of our membership have obtained grants of Armorial Bearings, many do not, and it is by no means a requirements for membership. If you have a fascination or interested in the art or history of heraldry, want to learn more about heraldry, and meet others who share this common interest with you we would love to have as a member of the Society and the Toronto Branch.

Hogtown Heraldry | This quarterly journal is the only Canadian periodical devoted to heraldic matters. It contains articles by leading heraldic experts as well as commentary on events of heraldic interest in Canada. It is recognized as one of the most interesting and authoritative heraldic publications in the world. |
Gonfanon | The Society's digital newsletter provides information on the activities of the Society and its Branches, as well as heraldic news in a less academic vein. |
Alta Studia Heraldic (ASH) | The peer-reviewed online Academic Journal published every two years. Which publishes new research, analysist and criticism in the multidisciplinary field of heraldic studies. (Hard copy available at extra cost) |
Heraldic Proficiency Course | The Society, through its Chief Examiner, conducts courses for home study at three progressive levels, the third qualifying the successful candidate as a Licentiate of the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada. Members received a reduced fee when registering for each of the 3 levels of the course. |
Exhibit your work | Many of our members enjoy exciting there academic or artistic work related to heraldry. Members are given a form to showcase that in Society/Branch publication as well as various meetings/events which take place. |
Access to members only | Members will have access to the Society extensive online library and resource, including numerous publication, papers and books available for research, study and perusal online. |
Roll of Arms | Members of the society are eligible to have your grant of Armorial Bearings admitted and published on the online Society Roll of Arms (after 5 years of membership) |
Merchandise | Members receive a discount on society merchandise made available throughout the year. |
Branch Membership | Society members are eligible to join Branches. Branches often have regular programs which include such events as illustrated talks, tours, field trips and sharing of personal heraldic artifacts. Each Branch also issues their own version of a branch newsletter containing information relevant to their branch members. |

Branch members are also able to submit articles for inclusion and advertise within the newsletter. Branch Life(e-message) | A monthly email message is sent out to all Branch members with reminders of upcoming events, as well as information on various projects and initiatives going on within the Toronto Branch. |
Branch Members Directory | All branch members are included in a bi-annually directory published by the Toronto Branch which allows members to find others who share common particular interest in heraldic subject and connect with them. |
Invitation to Branch Events | The Branch hold 3 to 4 events each year mostly in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) which members are encouraged to attend; they include speaker nights, dinners, and social gatherings. |
Invitation to Annual Heraldic Studies Day | One of the highlights to our year is the Annual Heraldic Studies Day hosted in Toronto. This event host academics and members who have done heraldic research together with members of the Branch for a day of education and fellowship. |
Photo Competition | Members have access to register for the yearly Toronto Branch Photo Competition. |
Socials and Networking | The Toronto Branch has numerous social events throughout the year, providing members great opportunities to network with individuals that they would otherwise have no chance to meet outside the Society. Membership is comprised of individuals from business, government, military, academic and private individuals. On occasion we have the opportunity to have international guest lecture at branch events who are experts in the field of heraldry. |

If you wish to also become a member of the Toronto Branch of the there is an addition fee which needs to be paid with your membership application / renewal each year. This fee help tto cover the cost of the additional publications, invitation and other needs associated with running the Branch. Toronto Branch membership is currently set at $15.00 in addition to your membership type, as listed above!
