Governor General's Horse Guards Badge

Governor General's Horse Guards

The Governor General's Horse Guards are based at George Taylor Denison III Armoury in Toronto. They are the senior armoured regiment in the order of battle, although the unit did not serve overseas as an entire regiment until the Italy campaign in 1944, during World War II.

The badge features a white unicorn, one of the supporters in the Royal Arms. The unicorn is within a belt & buckle, on which the motto of the Order of the Garter is inscribed, HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE ("Evil to him who evil thinks").

The second motto, NULLI SECUNDUS ("Second to none"), appears on a scroll below the badge.
